Paczuski Taudul experts at the 27th National Tax Conference “Tax Compass for Change” – event recap

On 20–21 October, we participated in the 27th National Tax Conference “Tax Compass for Change”, organised by ELSA Poland at Kozminski University in Warsaw. The event provided us with an opportunity to share our knowledge and experience with future tax advisers and lawyers.

On the first day of the conference, Andrzej Paczuski, tax adviser and Partner at Paczuski Taudul, took part in the opening panel entitled “Income and Wealth Taxes”. He delivered a presentation on the planned changes to the taxation of family foundations.

The expert highlighted the significance of the proposed amendments to the Family Foundation Act. He also emphasised that the adoption of the Act had been much needed and that, in his opinion, the legislation itself is one of the better pieces of legislation in the Polish legal system. He also expressed a positive view of the current direction of the proposed amendments, noting that they help preserve the essence and nature of the Act.

In his presentation, Andrzej Paczuski discussed the key proposed changes, including extending the personal income tax (PIT) exemption to more distant family members of the founder; increasing the corporate income tax (CIT) rate on benefits distributed by family foundations to 19%; taxing short-term and commercial property rentals; introducing a two-year lock-up period for assets contributed to a family foundation; taxing income earned through tax-transparent entities; extending the rules on controlled foreign companies (CFCs) and the exit tax to family foundations; and amending the transitional provisions.

On the second day of the conference, 21 October, Karolina Madurska, Senior Consultant at Paczuski Taudul, delivered a presentation entitled “How to Plan a Career in Tax Advisory? Practical Insights from the First Years of Professional Experience”.

The session offered participants a practical perspective on tax advisory and insights into the early stages of a career in the field.

As the conference’s Platinum Partner, we are delighted to have supported an initiative that brought together expert knowledge and practitioners’ experience, helping young people make informed decisions about their professional futures.
